Skin Needling

Otherwise known as Collagen Induction Therapy, Skin Needling is a clinical treatment that activates your skin’s natural regenerative process by triggering hundreds of invisible micro punctures.

These punctures trick your skin into thinking that it’s wounded and needs its natural healing processes to be activated.

When this happens, the cell that is responsible for producing collagen (called fibroblast) kicks into gear, and you guessed it - healthy collagen is produced, resulting in plump, smooth and clear skin.

How cool is that?!

However, Skin Needling does so much more than just produce collagen. It treats acne scarring, congestion, enlarged pores, pigmentation, signs of skin ageing, fine lines, stretch marks, skin laxity and improves overall skin tone and texture.

Unlike many other salons, we do not use numbing cream during our skin needling treatments.

Why?

Because they’re not necessary (although Skin Needling creates a sensation, it’s not painful) and they actually inhibit the effectiveness of the treatment!

To amplify your results - and help you feel extra loved up and looked after - we recommend you book in for a ‘Clarity LED Facial' five to ten days post Needling.

Some of the things we love most about Skin Needling and our EXCEED Microneedling device are that:

• It oxygenates the skin and kills off bacteria (and guess what - acne can’t live in well oxygenated skin!)

• It’s safe, and TGA and FDA approved

• Unlike lower quality devices, ours adapts and moulds to the surface of your skin, resulting in a more comfortable and effective treatment

• Although you will experience sensation on the skin, the treatment is not painfull

• Downtime is minimal. While you may experience some slight redness and feel a little ‘wind burnt’ after your treatment, you’ll be ready to take on the world the next day.

Please be aware that Skin Needling is not recommended for people who have an impaired skin barrier (like open acne wounds), or sensitive and/or reactive skin.

In some cases, your skin may need some healing and preparatory work prior to starting Skin Needling (as can be the case with conditions like cystic acne). In this instance we would call on the support of treatment modalities like Enzyme Therapy or LED Light Therapy.

Just like all our treatments, our Skin Needling goes more than skin deep.

Yes, we’ll be working directly on your skin, but you’ll melt into a relaxed and tranquil state the moment you step into our sanctuary.

During your appointment, you’ll be cosied up on our treatment table, with your eyes closed. All you need to do is relax, as we take care of the rest!

Although Skin Needling isn’t painful, as we work on your skin, you will feel a gentle flurry of sensations on your skin. If it’s your first time experiencing the magic of Skin Needling, you can rest assured that we’ll explain the process at every step along the way.

After your Needling, ​​we apply a cooling microbiome sheet mask to your face, helping to calm the skin and support its regeneration. Most of our clients tell us that this is their favourite part of the treatment because it’s relaxing and refreshing!

Where possible, we recommend that you take time out after your treatment, as your skin may look a little red and feel like it has been kissed by the wind.

It’s also important that you avoid the sun, sweating, swimming and anything heat inducing.

We hope to see you in our salon again, five to ten days after your treatment, for a Clarity LED Facial, to help support your skin’s healing process and ensure the most optimum of results.

Although ongoing treatments are recommended for some skin concerns, ​​your skin will look visibly revitalised and rejuvenated right away because in a single session, enough collagen to stay in your system for up to 2 years (!!!) is produced.
