Unwinding in a bath is one of my favourite ways to relax, taking a bath can have a hugely positive impact on the body, mind and skin. Enjoying a warm bath will increase blood circulation, calm the nervous system and sooth muscles and joints. When feeling stressed self care is essential, here are my tips to make your bath a source of comfort and connection for yourself.
- take your bath before bed, it can help to induce sleep
- mood lighting has a huge effect on ambience, turn off the main light and enjoy the flicker of candlelight
- adding a cup of Epsom salts or pink Himalayan salt will help soothe muscles and soften skin
- use essential oils that promote relaxation such as lavender, roman chamomile and vetiver
Mix your essential oils into the salts before dissolving them in your bath, it will help the oils to disperse and not float on top of the water. Add a few flower petals to really amp up the pamper factor!
